8Konstantin and his wife reached out to us to obtain their Digital Nomad residence permits in Spain.
On October 2, 2023, we started assisting Konstantin and his wife. The wife was applying as the main applicant, so we began with her preparation.
1. Document Preparation for the Main Applicant
We quickly ordered time-sensitive documents:
- police clearance certificate,
- employment history confirmation.
Certified translations were handled through our official translators; simpler translations were done in-house (included in the package). We also prepared all forms and fee payment receipts for signature and submission.
The client had a lot of questions — which is completely normal. The more clarity, the smoother the process.
2. Application Submission
Submission date: November 20, 2023
3. Additional Document Request
Date received: December 19, 2023
On December 19, we received a request for additional documents: to re-submit the health insurance policy.
December 20 — we responded to the request.
4. Approval
Approval date: December 22, 2023
5. Main Applicant Receives Residence Card
Fingerprinting took place on January 23, 2024. We had pre-prepared all forms and fee receipts.
On February 29, the client received the TIE card.
6. D Visa for Family Members
Next step: apply for a D visa for Konstantin and the rest of the family through the Spanish consulate in Russia. We:
- drafted the request letter for the appointment,
- sent instructions for submission,
- prepared the NIE request forms and D visa application forms.
March 13, 2024 — submitted the D visa application and obtained NIE.
March 20 — NIE received.
March 21 — first request for additional documents: main applicant’s self-employment registration certificate. Since she is an employee, we submitted a clarification letter, proof from the Social Security Fund, and private insurance.
March 22 — second request: employment contract of the main applicant and proof of social security registration.
March 25 — submitted documents and immediately received a third request: to provide the entire application package submitted for the main applicant’s residence permit. This was a first in our experience. We drafted a letter authorizing consultation with the authority that processed the spouse’s application.
After that, there was a pause. May 13 — we sent a follow-up letter.
7. Visa D Approval
Approval date: May 20, 2024
8. Digital Nomad Residence Application
Next — submission of the digital nomad residence application. We prepared:
- application forms,
- fee receipts,
- requested fresh bank statements and invoices.
June 13, 2024 — submitted residence applications for the family members.
9. Residence Permit Approval for Family Members
July 2 — Konstantin and the other family members received approvals with no additional document requests!

10. Residence Card Issuance
Fingerprinting took place in two rounds: July 17 and July 23. We prepared all forms and payment receipts.
August 28, 2024 — the family members received their residence cards.
