Questions about a startup residence permit

The initial startup residence permit in Spain is issued for 3 years. After that, it can be extended for 2 years. After 5 years of residence in Spain, you can apply for permanent residence, and after 10 years for citizenship.
The process can be divided into several stages:
  • Preparation of documents and a business project takes an average of 1 month (we are fully engaged in this).
  • Online application submission – if the documents are ready in advance, submission is possible in a few days.
  • The waiting time for the approval of the business plan is about 2 months.
  • Fingerprint registration and receipt of a residence permit card – about 2 months.
In total, the whole process takes 4-5 months.
Yes, you can leave. The main thing is that you have a valid Schengen to return to Spain. Otherwise, we recommend staying in Spain.
To submit, you must:
  • Lack of EU citizenship.
  • Age from 18 years.
  • No criminal record.
  • The availability of a Schengen visa for legal entry into Spain.
