Semyon reached out to us to obtain a student visa for Spain.

Semion decided to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at the European University (UEM) in Madrid, where the program is fully conducted in English. The university is considered prestigious in the field of business administration, offering programs adapted to modern business and finance trends.

The admission requirements were:

  1. English language proficiency confirmation
  2. Recognition of Russian high school diploma through UNED system
  3. Motivation letter
  4. Brief entrance exam

After meeting all requirements and successfully passing the exam, Semyon was admitted to the university.

    1. Document Preparation

After receiving the admission documents, we began preparing for the student residence permit application (TRP, Régimen de Estudiantes) from Spain. Filing from within the country was chosen based on several criteria:

    1. With a long-term Schengen visa (even tourist), the applicant can enter the country and submit the application electronically
    2. The residence permit is issued immediately for the entire study period (in Semion’s case – 1 year, as the application was still under the old regulations*)
    3. The permit includes work authorization (up to 30 hours per week)

For the application, we needed the following documents:

      1. Criminal record certificate from Russia (translated by a sworn translator)
      2. Criminal record certificate from Georgia (issued in both Georgian and Spanish, certified by the Spanish Chargé d’Affaires in Tbilisi)
      3. Georgian bank statement (balance of €10,000)
      4. Prepared application forms
      5. Private medical insurance with full coverage (€500 per year)
      6. Medical certificate from a clinic in Madrid (in accordance with 2005 regulations)

      2. Submission

      Submission date: September 12, 2024

Document submission to Madrid’s immigration office was done through our digital signature.

      3. Residence Permit Approval

      Approval date: October 27, 2024

The approval was received without additional requests.

      Student TRP approval document

Thus, Semion successfully obtained his student TRP, allowing him to not only study but also work legally in Spain!
