From language courses to residence permit under IE

On October 3, 2024, Peter contacted us requesting to convert his student residence permit. He was about to complete a year of language courses in Spain and wanted to stay in the country, continuing to work in his specialty — digital marketing.

He had a strong profile: a degree in marketing and over 10 years of experience in the field.

1. Document Preparation

To strengthen the case, we requested recommendation letters from 2 previous employers. We fully developed a business plan for submission:

1. Defined the target audience: small and medium businesses in Spain,
2. Outlined the service promotion strategy,
3. Indicated expected expenses and income,
4. Added a step-by-step project implementation plan.

On November 5, 2024, we submitted the business plan. In parallel, we collected other documents for the dossier: registered as autónomo in Spain, prepared bank statements, organized sworn translation of the diploma, filled out forms, and prepared the fee.

4. Residence Permit Approval

Approval date without additional requests: January 14, 2025

5. Tax Consultation

As part of the support package, Peter also received tax consultation, which we conducted on January 21, 2025. This allowed him to confidently understand what taxes autónomo pays, when to report, and how to optimize expenses.

6. Fingerprinting and TIE Receipt

On February 5, 2025, Peter submitted his fingerprints at the police station.

On March 10, 2025, he received his self-employed residence permit card. Now he legally lives and works in Spain!
