A sworn translation (traducción jurada) is an official translation performed by a sworn translator accredited by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It is required when submitting foreign documents to Spanish authorities.
Sworn translations are necessary for:- Residence permit documents (criminal record certificates, company registers like EGRUL, EGRIP, etc.)
- Academic documents (diplomas, school certificates, transcripts)
- Legal documents (birth, marriage, divorce certificates)
- Financial documents (tax declarations, sometimes bank statements)
- Apostille (for Hague Convention countries) must be obtained in the country where the document was issued.
- Consular legalization is required for countries not party to the Hague Convention.
Sworn translations are performed by translators registered with the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
We work with translators of Russian, English, Serbian, Greek, Italian, and other languages.
You can also find sworn translators independently via:- The official list of translators (on the Ministry’s website: https://www.exteriores.gob.es/es/ServiciosAlCiudadano/Paginas/Traductores-Interpretes-Jurados.aspx)
