When Vasily’s child’s student residence permit was due for renewal in June 2024, the family approached us for support. Then in autumn, work began on the renewal for Vasily himself and his wife.

1. Document Preparation

We started preparing documents for the child on June 5, 2024. The list of required documents included:

  1. Matrícula (school certificate),
  2. Medical insurance,
  3. Scan of previous TIE,
  4. Copy of passport,
  5. Proof of financial means.

On June 12, 2024, we submitted the child’s documents through the MERCURIO platform.

On September 9, 2024, we began preparing the package for Vasily and his wife. The procedure was practically identical; we prepared the forms, generated fees, and prepared powers of attorney for submission. The submission took place on October 8, 2024.

2. Submission

Submission dates: June 12, 2024, and October 8, 2024

3. Additional Request

Date of additional request received: December 30, 2024

While there were no questions from immigration authorities regarding other cases, Vasily received an additional request – they required a certificate of successful course completion. This is a common situation: even with identical documents, different officials may interpret requirements differently.

Date of response to additional request: January 3, 2025

4. Residence Permit Approval

On December 30, 2024, approval came for his wife, and on the same day – approval for the child, five months after submission!

On January 9, 2025, Vasily received his approval.

5. Fingerprint Submission

Due to personal circumstances, the family decided to submit fingerprints in March. We prepared the forms and fees, and on March 6, 2025, they submitted fingerprints at the police station, and on March 11, 2025, they received new TIE cards.
