Alexey, 32, had earned a Bachelor's degree in Marketing in Moscow and decided to continue his education in Spain. He aimed to enhance his qualifications and pursue an international career. Spain was his top choice due to its strong academic reputation. A student visa turned out to be the perfect fit for Alexey’s goals, and he reached out to us for assistance in obtaining a student residence permit in Spain.The Student Visa Application Process

Initially, Alexey planned to apply for the student visa directly from Spain, but his short Schengen stay made that option difficult (the Schengen visa must be valid for at least 31 days—this is a critical requirement for applying from within Spain). - Bank statement from Kazakhstan showing sufficient funds

- Criminal record certificate with apostille and Spanish translation
- Medical certificate (Form 082-U) with Spanish translation
- Bachelor’s degree diploma with Spanish translation
- Passport photo (3x4 cm)
- Visa application form filled in Spanish
- Visa fee of €80 (paid in cash at the consulate upon submission)
Visa Challenges and Resolution
Problems arose after submitting the application on February 21, when the consulate requested additional documents, including Alexey’s employment record (labor book). Later, the consulate notified him of a processing delay due to a verification request sent to the Barcelona city hall to confirm the license of the student residence. This phase was prolonged and required constant communication with the consulate and Spanish authorities. Our team actively supported Alexey throughout this period, providing continuous updates and emotional support to help him remain positive. Despite the extended timeline, the visa was finally approved two months later, on April 19.
Moving to Spain
After receiving his visa, Alexey began preparing for the move. He chose comfortable accommodation in a student residence, which significantly eased his adaptation process. Upon arrival in Spain, Alexey was thrilled by the atmosphere in Barcelona. The city impressed him with its architecture, picturesque streets, and warm climate. He quickly adapted by registering at the local police station to obtain his TIE (foreign resident ID card). This card gave him the right to reside in Spain, work up to 30 hours per week, and travel freely within the EU.
